IOANA CARABIN, MD

Dr. Ioana Carabin graduated with a Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY in 1986. She underwent a 2-year General surgery training at North Shore University Hospital (affiliate of Cornell University), Manhasset, NY, and a 3-year training in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, Facial Plastic Surgery at The Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY graduating this prestigious program in 1991.

Since then, in addition to clinical practice in her areas of expertise, Dr. Carabin has also been involved in medical consulting and she has lectured nationally and internationally and published extensively. Between 2009 and 2012, Dr. Carabin held the position of Assistant Professor of Medical Education, University of Central Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Medical Education, in Orlando, FL.

In the last 12 years, Dr. Carabin has been practicing in Key West and has been attending to patients throughout the Florida Keys, as Island ENT was for a long time the only ENT practice in the Keys.

Our Practice Manager, Mayra Bethel has extensive experience managing the administrative aspect of the medical practice and she has done so for the last 12 years.

I was in [extreme] pain in my left ear on Friday. The receptionist said she would call me back to see if she had an opening. She called me back in less then 30 minutes and by the way was the sweetest woman, told me to come at 10:30! Dr. Carabin knows her stuff she got me fixed up in no time and I am looking forward to my follow up appointment! Also they didn't take the insurance I had and it was cheaper then the other ENT who took my insurance😳Weird! Super grateful👂👍🏼

This place is great as is the staff, physicians assistants and doctor. Not sure what the other two reviewers are talking about Island ENT is great.

Dr. Carabin is a Dr. that goes above and beyond for the welfare of her patients! I have been seeing her for about 5 years now and if there is something that she is not equipped to handle she will find someone for you that can. Then she will double check to make sure you are taken care of. Her staff is wonderful. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I should have posted this year's ago. Dr. Carabin and her staff saved my live. I don't say this lightly as a Disabled Vet. I stopped breathing 187 times during the test. I have only been without it 2 times. That was because I was traveling and forgot the power cord.
